My New Favorite Network

The in thing to do on the internet is to constantly bash ABC for canceling Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, and benching Samantha Who and Ugly Betty, but the Alphabet Network is quickly becoming my favorite non-cable channel.

Maybe it's because ABC saved Scrubs and is responsible for giving us one of the better seasons of the medical sit-dramedy. Then again, ABC will soon be unveiling some new shows that have piqued my interest such as Castle and Better Off Ted. I might even check out the new version of Cupid.

Castle stars Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), and I will watch anything Fillion does. Plus, it looks like it's taking a fresher approach to your run of the mill police procedural. Better Off Ted reminds me of a corporate version of Eureka, and I think it will match up nicely with Scrubs. As for Cupid, I remember it when it first came out with Jeremy Piven and remember thinking that it could be a good show.

Plus, all of the other networks don't offer anything that interests me. I'm getting frustrated with How I Met Your Mother because this season sucks, and I cannot make myself watch shows like The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men. I stopped watching CSI years ago, and I'm so over traditional police procedurals, which makes up 99% of CBS' line-up. Right now, I just watch Chuck and Friday Night Lights on NBC, and there's the chance that neither will get a renewal. The House/Cuddy debacle made me lose all interest in House, which was the only show I watched on FOX.

Sure, I'm still a little raw because of the cancellation of Pushing Daisies, but I also understand that television is a tricky business, and ABC did what it had to do. I'm willing to stick around to see what ABC has to offer.
