Quick Thoughts: COMMUNITY, "Intro to Knots"

"Intro to Knots" may have been trying too hard to be Community Classic, and I'll admit that everything didn't work, but I thought it was a decent enough episode. Then again, I've been more forgiving towards Season 4 than most "fans."

Now, I've never too keen when Community doubles down on how selfish and flawed these people can be, and some of my least favorite episodes have centered around this approach. Yet, I didn't hate it this time around. Sure, the show didn't do anything new per se, but the addition of Malcolm McDowell worked for the most part, and I liked his back-and-forth with Jeff. Some of the other character moments didn't land as smoothly, but Troy continued to be the show's savior.

At the end of the day, "Intro to Knots" was another wannabe episode of Community, but it was far from horrible and I was entertained. That's fine by me.
