Episode Review: BONES, "The Parts in the Sum of the Whole"

Tonight was the big 100th episode of Bones, and overall I was pretty underwhelmed. The idea of seeing how Booth and Brennan first met was mildly entertaining in the beginning, but the thought that this first case was the catalyst for the entire series just didn't do it for me.

Seeing Angela not being an original part of the team, and Zach and Hodgins hating one another just felt off. Of course, I didn't expect them to have always been this one big, happy group, but the thought that Booth and this case brought everthing together just seemed unnatural.

While most of the episode fell short of my expectations, the last ten minutes or so were pretty epic. Seeing Booth and Bones make out, fight and go their seperate ways, Sweets tell Booth to man up and gamble on a relationship, and Booth finally putting his cards on the table was captivating. The best part was when Brennan shot him down because I think they work better as partners than lovers, and now Booth can finally move on. He's too good for her anyway.

Usually, I'm a fan of keeping the two would be lovers apart (with a few exceptions), and tonight's Bones was proof of why I am. We all know they're going to end up together, but why rush it? Sometimes the journey is more fun than the destination.
