Episode Review: CASTLE, "Wrapped Up in Death"

After two tense, but still amusing, episodes of Castle, we got an installment that was heavy on the fun.  The Case of the Week revolved around a Mayan mummy exhibit, which of course led to tons of mummy's curse jokes, and we even got to see Nathan Fillion pull out his best Indiana Jones impression.

The CoW was only mildly interesting, but the jokes and pranks that Beckett, Ryan, and Esposito pulled on Castle were great and further proof of why Castle has become better than Bones. What I love about Kate Beckett is that she can be one of the boys while being sexy as hell. She jokes around, she teases Castle, and she can prank with the best of them. Brennan can barely understand the concept of humor, and she would never be able to rib Booth the way Beckett does with Castle.

All of a sudden the show starts referring to Scooby-Doo, which was fun at first, but I did think Beckett's, "ruh-roh" line was a bit forced. Sure, it worked in the end, but it just went a smidge too far. Castle comparing Beckett to Daphne was kind a cute and sexy all at the same time.

This episode had some great jokes and plot twists, but the moment of the night came when Castle asked Beckett to look after Alexis if anything happened to him thanks to the curse of the mummy. Beckett agrees and shoots Castle one of the cutest smiles until he ruins the moment by talking about his porn collection. Classic Castle.

It's hard to believe that I actually count down to Mondays thanks to Castle and Chuck, but my two favorite shows make the start of the week more than bearable...they make it fun.
